Realme 10 is a mid-range phone that is targeted at users who don’t want to spend much on a phone but want optimal performance. It was announced on November 9 2022 in the global market. The smartphone is the successor of the Realme 9.
It brings faster performance than the Realme 9. The phone now has a Mediatek Helio G99 chipset which is faster than the Snapdragon 680 chipset in the Realme 9.
Although the Realme 10 has a camera downgrade. The device comes with two rear cameras now instead of three like on its predecessor.
It has a 50MP main camera and a 2MP depth sensor. Its predecessor has a 108MP main camera, 8MP ultra-wide camera, and 2MP macro sensor. So the Realme 10 has a downgraded camera.
Another minor difference is that the Realme 10 uses a side-mounted fingerprint sensor this time instead of the under-display fingerprint sensor in the Realme 9.
Key differences between the Realme 10 and the Realme 9

- Colours: Clash White and Rush Black
- Dimensions: 159.9mm x 73.3mm x 7.95mm
- Weight: 178 grams
- Body material: Plastic
- SIM Type: Dual Nano SIM
The design of the Realme 10 is really beautiful and attractive. It has a gradient colour with some tiny spots which Realme calls light particles. The rear houses a dual circular camera module, Realme branding, and a single flashlight for low-light photography.
The back and frame of the phone are made from plastic which is durable but not premium like glass. It is glossy which makes it prone to fingerprint stains. The frame of the phone is pretty flat and that makes it produce sharp ends which might seem uncomfortable for some people.
But it is the trending design these days so everyone should learn to live with it. On the left, it has the SIM and Micro-SD card slot. On the right side, it has the volume rockers which are positioned at the upper side of the phone. People with small hands might find it hard to control the volumes with one hand.
There is also the power button on the right side and that doubles up as the fingerprint scanner for security when unlocking the phone. You will just need to place your pointer finger or your thumb on the power button and the phone will scan your finger, once it detects it’s you, it will unlock and this happens in a matter of seconds.
On the top of the phone, there is a secondary microphone hole. At the bottom, there is the 3.5mm headphone jack for connecting your earpiece or headphones, a microphone for audio recording or answering calls, a USB-C port for charging or data transfers, and the speaker grilles.
We noticed the camera module on the back protrudes from the phone which will cause it to wobble when placed on a flat surface. Using a case on the phone might prevent it. Users can have the phone in two colours which are Rush Black and Clash White.
The phone is also slim at 7.95mm. It weighs 178 grams which is lightweight. It supports two Nano SIMs which are the smallest SIM cards we have today. There is also a Micro-SD card slot or memory card slot for storage expansion.
Realme didn’t specify the maximum capacity of the memory card the phone supports but we guess it is 1TB. The Realme 10 doesn’t come with an IP rating which means it doesn’t come with splash resistant or waterproof rating. So please don’t take the phone near anything water or dust.
Overall, we like the design of the phone. It looks modern and attractive, especially with that light particle design.
- Size: 6.4-inches
- Type: Super AMOLED
- Resolution: 1080 x 2400 pixels
- Refresh rate: 90Hz
- Brightness: 430 nits with slider and 610 nits on auto-mode
- Protection: Corning Gorilla Glass 5
- Screen-to-body ratio: 90.8%
- Pixels per inch density: 411
- Aspect ratio: 20:9
The Realme 10 doesn’t come with a curved display. It has a flat display instead and that is good. It has a punch-hole cut-out for the selfie camera on the left side. The chin size is quite noticeable but the bezels are slim, making it have a 90.8% screen-to-body ratio. The display of the phone is good. With 1080 x 2400 pixels resolution and Super AMOLED panel and 411 pixels per inch density, the screen will produce good colours.
It will be good for watching videos and playing games. This phone can’t be used under direct sunlight. This is because it has 610 nits of brightness. We mean, it can be used in direct sunlight but you will definitely struggle to see the content on the screen.
The display will feel smooth when scrolling or playing games because it has a 90Hz refresh rate. Although Realme said that the 90Hz refresh works in some apps and in some scenarios so it doesn’t kick in all the time.
The phone’s display will survive some scratches because it has a Corning Gorilla Glass 5 on the front. The Glass 5 is strong and durable for unwanted phone drops or scratches. Realme said the phone has a 4,000,000:1 contrast ratio which is the ratio measurement of the brightness of the display in the White area and the Black area.
In the case of the Realme 10, the contrast ratio is acceptable but not the best. The display of the phone can also produce 16.7million colours which are essential for media consumption or gaming.
The Realme 10 doesn’t come with a 120Hz refresh rate and HDR10. Also, it doesn’t come with an always-on display. Overall, the display is good as the mid-ranger that it is.

Under the hood, the Realme 10 is powered by the Mediatek Helio G99 chipset. This chipset is currently the king of mid-range chipsets as of the time of writing this article. It performs really well. Realme says that it is faster than the Snapdragon 680 present in the older Realme 9.
According to the company, the Realme 10 brings 25% better CPU performance and 78% better GPU performance, that’s impressive. This means that the 10 is better than the older 9 in terms of performance. The phone can play a handful of games you throw at it like the Genshin Impact, Call of Duty, PubG mobile, Mobile legends and so on. But note that it may play the games at medium graphics and frame rate.
The Helio G99 is a good mid-range chipset. It is built on a 6nm process node and uses Two Cortex-A76 clocked at 2.2GHz and six Cortex-A55 clocked at 2.0GHz. It has a Mali-G57 MC2 for graphics or gaming. The Realme 10 scored 398,428 on the Antutu benchmark.
In terms of the user interface, you will get all the necessary things you need because it runs on the Android 12 operating system with RealmeUI 3.0 user interface. We don’t know if the phone will get more Android updates in the future, like the Android 13, 14 e.t.c.
The phone has 8GB RAM and another 8GB of virtual RAM support. Realme calls it Dynamic RAM. This is a RAM derived from the ROM and it is not as powerful as the main RAM, it just supports the main RAM when necessary. Out of the box, the Realme 10 doesn’t have virtual RAM, you need to update the phone to get the virtual RAM option.
When you buy the phone, the update is likely waiting for you already to install we think. In terms of internal storage, it has 64GB, 128GB, and 256GB. It has 4GB, 6GB, and 8GB RAM options. There is memory card support for ROM expansion. It uses UFS 2.2 storage type which is fast when transferring files.
Overall, the Realme 10 is fast enough for a mid-range phone. It can perform quite some tasks you throw at it.

- Front: 16MP

These specs basically mean that the 50MP camera of the 10 can take good pictures in a well-light environment. The camera output is not flagship-level or top notch but it is ok for a mid-range phone. The predecessor, Realme 9, can take better pictures.
The 2MP depth sensor has a 22.02mm focal length, a FOV of 88 degrees, an aperture of f/2.4, a 3P lens, and a sensor size of 1/5. - Size: 5000mAh
